Dawnward

Dawnward is a single-player, turn-based fantasy role-playing game in classic high fantasy style. It plays like a tabletop adventure: you gather a growing roster of heroes, take four of them on each adventure, move them square by square, and every attack, spell, and saving throw is a roll of the dice you can see.

The rules come from the System Reference Document 5.2.1, adapted for a video game, so players who know fifth edition rules will feel at home. Players who don't will never need a rulebook: the game explains the odds as you play.

Between adventures you return to your settlement. It starts as a clearing full of survivors and grows as you bring back gold, materials, and the people you rescue. A bigger settlement means better gear, new services, and new places to explore.

Platforms

Windows comes first, on Steam and itch.io. Versions for iOS and Android follow, and the game is designed from the start to play well with touch on a small screen.
